Mr. Joel Franklin Strickland, 76, of 2172 Page Rd. in Stedman, died Sunday, January 7,2007, at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. He was a farmer. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 10, at Butler Funeral Home in Stedman. Burial will follow at Stedman Church of God of Prophecy Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Mary Strickland of the home; two daughters, Mickey Bullard of Fayetteville and Marlene Patrick of Raeford; six sons, Edward Lee Castle of Burlington, "Billy" Castle of Hope Mills, James Michael Strickland of Wade, Robert Allen Castle, Joel Franklin Strickland, Jr. and John L. Strickland, all of Stedman; one brother, Ralph Strickland of Fayetteville; one sister, Keith Wood of Stedman; seventeen grandchildren and twenty-two great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. at the funeral home.
