Mr. Joe Ellis Warren, 84

SALEMBURG

Mr. Joe Ellis Warren, 84 of Salemburg, passed away at 8:25 am Monday, July 25, 2016 at WakeMed Hospital in Raleigh.

A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, July 30, 2016 at Butler Funeral Home, 401 W. Roseboro Street, Roseboro. Burial will follow at Roseboro Cemetery with military honors.

Born on November 19, 1931 in Roseboro, NC, he was the son of the late Thel and Zach Warren. He is also preceded in death by two children, Liza Spencer Warren and Joe Ellis Warren, Jr. He was a Veteran of the Korean War having served in the Air Force, a graduate of Wake Forest and member of the 1955 Collegiate World Series Baseball Team, and an avid golfer. He retired from Plastic Tubing, Inc. after 31 years of service as Financial Comptroller.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Betty Spencer Warren of the home; daughter, Lee Warren Hickman and husband Aaron of Raleigh; grandson, Joe Warren Hickman; brother, Robert Zachary Warren and wife Connie of Columbia, SC; and nephew, Rob Warren of Greenville, SC.

The family will receive friends and family following the graveside service Saturday in the Fellowship Hall of Roseboro First Baptist Church, 3720 S. Salemburg Highway, Roseboro.
