STEDMAN Mrs. JoAnn Averitte Heath, 71, of 6880 Blake Road , was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on March 30th after a brief stay at The Carrol S. Roberson Hospice Center. Mrs. Heath was born in Salisbury, Maryland the daughter of the late John Langston Averitte and Irene Buckingham Averitte. She was a member of Cokesbury United Methodist Church of Stedman and was a retired legal secretary. Besides her parents she was also predeceased by her husband, Mack Ray Heath, Sr. and a brother, Buzz Averitte. Surviving Mrs. Heath are her daughters, Linda Bill and husband, Dale of Fayetteville, Wanda Morketter and husband, Rick of Shallotte Point; sons, Ray Heath and wife, Paula of Wilmington, John Heath and wife, Lorraine of Stedman; sister, Jean Francis and husband, Lee of Stedman; four grandchildren, Jessica Heath, Jamie Heath, Adam Bill and Stacey Heath; and a sister-in-law, Lela Averitte of Stedman. Funeral services will be Friday, April 2, 2010 at 2:00 PM in Cokesbury United Methodist Church of Stedman with the Rev. Mike Nelson officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 to 2:00 PM prior to the funeral service and other times at the home.
