Jo Ann (Weeks) Herring

Mrs. Jo Ann Weeks Herring, 79 of Roseboro, passed away on Thursday, November 21, 2024 at her home.

The funeral service will be held at 3:00pm on Sunday, November 24, 2024 at Freedom Baptist Church, 2099 Tyndall Bridge Road, Salemburg, with Reverend Adam Capps and Reverend Bryan Strickland officiating.  Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Herring was born June 25, 1945 and was the daughter of Roy and Alice Lee Weeks.  She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Shelton Weeks; and sister, Nina Ruth Best.  She was a Charter Member of Freedom Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for over 40 years and served in many other positions.

She is survived by her husband, Donald J. Herring; sons, Derrick Herring and wife, Angie of Turkey, Erick Herring and wife, Kim of Salemburg, and Chris Herring and wife, LeAnn of Clinton; grandchildren, Quinn Tart, Meredith Herring, Morgan Herring, Ethan Herring, Edie Herring, Cole Rector, Cody Rector, Cayden Herring, Brianna Wheeler and Leah Wheeler; great grandchildren, Jonah Tart, Ronan Tart, Austin Neal, Braxtyn Crumley and Jonah Belle Crumley; and her large extended family.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00pm on Saturday evening in the Fellowship Hall of Freedom Baptist Church and other times at her home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Freedom Baptist Church, P.O. Box 338, Salemburg, NC 28385; or to one’s favorite charity.
