Mrs. Jewel Adams Thomas

High Point Jewel Adams Thomas passed peacefully into the Gates of Heaven to meet her Heavenly Father on Friday afternoon, January 13, 2017. Jewel moved to High Point in March of 2014 after Fulton, her dear husband of 61 years went to be with the Lord. As a young child, Jewel accepted Christ as her Savior and throughout her life, she served Him faithfully. She loved to teach whether it was in Sunday School, WMU, Vacation Bible School or public school. She was an avid reader and those who knew her best lovingly called her “Jewel Bug.” She was a wonderful friend to many and we all will miss her. She is survived by three children, Andra Carroll and her husband Bob of High Point, NC; Karen Boyette and her husband, Wiley, of Wilson, NC, and Chaplain Mark Thomas and his wife, Cynthia, of Satellite Beach, FL; four grandchildren, Adam Knight, Kaitlyn Jones, Kathleen Boyette, and Meredith Thomas and two great granddaughters, two sisters, Earlene Knight and Betty Christmas and one brother, Franklin Adams and many special nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. The family will receive friends at 11:00am at Stedman Baptist Church on Saturday, January 21, 2017, with the service to follow at 11:30am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Stedman Baptist Church Building Fund, PO Box 190, Stedman, NC 28391. Private interment will be held prior to the service. The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to all those who have participated in caring for their mother during her long battle with kidney disease. Special thanks are sent to the staff at Hospice of the Piedmont in High Point, North Carolina. Services are by Butler Funeral Home, 401 W. Roseboro Street, Roseboro.
