Mr. Jerry Thurman Vinson, 62

Mr. Jerry Thurman Vinson, 63 of Fayetteville, passed away Saturday, August 15, 2015 at Woodlands Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

A memorial service will be held 3:00 pm Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at Evergreen Baptist Church, 9626 NC Hwy. 210 S., Autryville, with Dr. Odell Peterson and Rev. Tommy Honeycutt officiating.

Mr. Vinson was born October 28, 1952 in Cumberland County to James Thurman and Vestal Christine Parker Vinson. He was a veteran of the Army and worked as a mechanic.

He is survived by a son, Jerry Vinson, II; daughter, Nickie Vinson Gates and husband Bill; granddaughter, Khloe Vinson and her mother Meshelle Sessoms; brothers, James Vinson and wife Phyllis, Larry Vinson and wife Donna, Dean Vinson and wife Elaine, and Roger Vinson and wife Julie; sisters, Viola Beal and husband Junior, Rebecca Gehl and husband Rick, and Tracy Bullard; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends 1:30 to 2:30 pm Tuesday afternoon in the Fellowship Hall at Evergreen Baptist Church.
