ELIZABETHTOWN
Mr. Jerrell Douglas "Deedy" Coleman, Sr., 65 of 1456 Lula Long Road, died on Wednesday, August 4, 2010 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville.
The funeral service will held on Saturday, August 7, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at Peters Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Darrell Floyd and Dr. Odell Peterson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military honors.
Mr. Coleman was born on November 12, 1944 in Horry County, South Carolina, and was the son of the late George Waller and Lois Smith Coleman. He is preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Coleman. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was a member of Sonrise Gospel Group. He worked as a Ticket Agent with Piedmont Airlines/U.S. Air.
Mr. Coleman is survived by: one son, Jerrell Douglas Coleman, Jr. and wife, Andra of Cary; one daughter, Jadee Coleman Conant of Apex; four grandchildren, Peyton Coleman, Jackson Coleman, Jennie Conant and Aaron Conant; and his companion, Joyce Boatman of Elizabethtown.
The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 7 to 9 P.M. at Butler Funeral Home in Roseboro, and other times at home.
