Jean Weeks Collier Fettig, 88, of Hillsborough, died Thursday, January 4th in Wade, NC.
Born January 29th, 1935 in Sampson County to the late Robert Weeks and Estelle Ammons Weeks, Jean was valedictorian of her high school class and went on to work in accounting. She later owned and operated a travel agency, and enjoyed travelling all over the world. She loved spending time with her family and was very active in her church, serving on several committees. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 20 years Art Fettig; son, Christopher Whitley Collier; her parents, and her siblings, Wesley Weeks, Tommy Weeks, Ann Weeks, Gail Jones, Frances Salter; and as well as daughter in law, Gee Gee Collier; and step-son, David Fettig.
She is survived by her two sons, David Collier of Raleigh, Kevin (Michele) Collier of Wade; step-children, Nancy (Mike) Smith, Daniel Fettig, Amy (Robb) Trexler; and step-daughter-in-law, Senka Fettig; as well as grandchildren, Jennifer (Paul) Wyatt, Michael (Amanda) Collier, Michelle (Derek) Swart, Kate Collier, Anna Collier, Alex Collier, Tiffany (Nikki) Fettig, Alison (Nick) Havercamp, Carli Fettig, Rory (Veronica) Packard, Trevor Packard, and Mickey Tomanovic; as well as six great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on January 13th at 11am at Hillsborough Presbyterian Church, 102 West Tryon Street, Hillsborough, NC, followed by graveside service at 3:30 pm at Old Bluff Presbyterian Church, Godwin, NC.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hillsborough Presbyterian Church ( hillsboroughpres.org ) at 102 West Tryon Street, Hillsborough, NC.
