Mrs. Jean Cain Townsend, 72 of Wallace, passed away Sunday, December 11, 2016 at her home.

She was born July 27, 1944 in Sampson County and was a homemaker. She is preceded in death by her parents, Julius and Bernice Melvin Cain; husband, John Townsend; sisters, Chris, Ann; brothers, Harry, Art.

She is survived by her children, Keith Hall and wife Jodi of Clinton, Steven Hall of Wallace, Karen Smith and husband Kevin of Hampstead; sister, Patty Sue Coble of Whiteville; brother, Gilbert Cain of Ammon; grandchildren, Lane, Jared, Trace, Samantha, Matthew, Jennifer, Cole, Dawson; great grandchild, Joshua.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Thursday at Windsor United Methodist Church, 12863 NC Highway 242 N., Elizabethtown, with Reverend Brock Meyer officiating. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends in the Fellowship Hall following the graveside service.
