Mrs. Jean Butler (Tew) Spell, 81 went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 23, 2023 at Sampson Regional Medical Center.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 28, 2023 at Salemburg Baptist Church with the Reverend Drew Bolin officiating. The burial will follow at Salemburg Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Friday, January 27, 2023 at the Butler Funeral Home in Roseboro.

Mrs. Spell was a native of Sampson County, the daughter of Offie Blueford and Alma Butler Tew. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Benny Tew. She was a member of Salemburg Baptist Church where she sang in the church choir.

She leaves to cherish her memory her son, Eric Jason Spell of Raleigh; her daughter, Natalie Henderson and husband, Sam of Raleigh; two grandsons, Alec Henderson and Colin Henderson; her brother, Wayne Tew and wife, Jane Claire of Clinton; her sister-in-law, Junette B. Tew of Salemburg; several nieces and nephews; and several great nieces and nephews.
