Mrs. Jean Harris Mcdowell

ROSEBORO Mrs. Jean Harris McDowell, 78, of 503 W. Roseboro Street, passed away Friday, Oct. 5, 2007 at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2007 at 4:00 PM at Roseboro First Baptist Church with the Rev. Roger White officiating. Burial will be Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2007 at 2:00 PM at Pine Hill Cemetery in Burlington. Mrs. McDowell was a native of Sampson County and the daughter of the late Abner Fleet and Lois Clyde Wood Harris. She was preceded in death by her husband Herbert Terry McDowell and a sister, Francis Harris Pate. She was a public schools teacher before retiring. Mrs. McDowell is survived by: son, Frank McDowell, of Raleigh; grandson, Tim McDowell, of Raleigh; granddaughter, Christina Miner and husband Jason, of Indiana; sister, Agnes Knight, of Durham; brother, Pete Harris, Sr., of Roseboro; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Monday night from 6 till 8 PM at Butler Funeral Home in Roseboro.
