Mr. Jasper Michael Garner, 64

FAYETTEVILLE Mr. Jasper Michael "Jackie" Garner, 64 of 1124 Cedar Creek Road, died on Thursday, August 8, 2013 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, August 12, 2013 at Sunrise Memorial Gardens in Salemburg with Rev. Bryan Strickland officiating. Mr. Garner was born on January 28, 1949 in South Carolina to Joseph H. and Lora Tew Garner. Jackie was born with a disability and had been in a child state-of-mind his entire life, which only made him easy to love and to care for. He was cared for by his cousins and his extended family at Cumberland Village Assisted Living, formerly Len-Care Nursing Home. He became a resident there over 30 years ago following the death of his mother. He is survived by: numerous cousins; and his caregivers at Cumberland Village Assisted Living in Fayetteville.
