J anet Wrench Berg, 82, beloved wife, mother, grandma, great-grandma and great-great-grandma gained her angel wings on July 26, 2022.  Janet was born on August 15, 1939 in Cumberland County, NC as the sixth of twelve children to Murphy and Vena Wrench. Her final days were spent at her home in Fayetteville, NC surrounded by her loving family.

Janet lived a full life and traveled the world over with her husband, Lyn, by her side. She loved her family more than anything and brought them so much joy.  She also gave them courage and hope and reminded them of the preciousness of life.  She enjoyed going to church, reading, doing crossword puzzles, crafts and gardening.  She especially loved decorating her home for the holidays. Janet’s motto was “if it doesn’t move, put a bow on it.”  Janet loved baking cookies and candies with her family so much that it became a family tradition.  Although toward the end of her life she was so tiny and frail, Janet never complained, remained strong in her faith and always provided tremendous comfort to others with her beautiful smile.

Janet is survived by her loving husband of sixty-three years, Lynwood Berg; five children Jana Berg-Reif (David), Pamela Griffith (Jay), Cynthia Berg-Richie (Allen), Dawn Hester (Bill) and Lynwood “Chip” Berg, II; ten grandchildren Jennifer Cash (Christopher), Heather Dixon-Saxton (Kirstie), Christopher Zuercher (Krista Pruitt), Courtney Holder (Charles Leslie), Jessica Smith (Kenneth), Jaclyn Gilio, Spencer Berg, Jonathan Berg (Anastasia), Matthew Hester, Cameron Berg; eleven great-grandchildren Haili Jordan, Chloe McGowan, Jonas Cash, Haedin Cash, Dylan Leslie, Blake Dixon-Saxton, Kylie Pruitt, Kenneth Smith, III, Raleigh Smith, Charlotte Berg and Ezra Petrosky; one great-great-grandchild Remington Bristow; two sisters Muriel Johnson and Cathy Cashwell, and three brothers Donald, Peyton and Gary Wrench.  She was preceded in death by her parents Murphy and Vena Wrench, three brothers Charles, Jackie and Steve Wrench, three sisters Linda Bayer, Von Ruth Autry and Hilda Lambert and daughter-in-law Tammy Jackson Berg.

The family will receive visitors at Butler Funeral Home, Stedman, NC on Friday, July 29th from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.  The funeral service will be held at Snyder Memorial Baptist Church, Fayetteville, NC on Saturday, July 30th at 11:00 a.m. amidst laughter, tears, and memories to celebrate her good fight, her strong faith and the crown from Jesus which she now wears in His presence.
