Mr. James Edward Watkins,, 88 Sr.

FAYETTEVILLE Mr. James Edward Watkins, Sr., 88 of Fayetteville passed away on Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at his home. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, August 1 at Macedonia Baptist Church with Rev. Neil Smith and Rev. Steve Lloyd officiating. Burial will follow in the Lafayette Memorial Park. Mr. Watkins was a native of Cumberland County, the son of the late Fred Blake and Mary Kate Melvin Watkins. He was a retired fireman with the Fayetteville Fire Department and a U. S. Navy veteran. He is survived by his wife, Wanda Watkins of the home; son, James E. Watkins, Jr. of Stedman; a grandson, James W. Watkins of Stedman; daughter-in-law, Shari Watkins of Stedman and a sister, Dorothy Knoch of Fayetteville. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 1:45 PM Friday at the church. Services entrusted to Butler Funeral Home, 6535 Clinton Road, Stedman, NC. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, August 1 at Macedonia Baptist Church with Rev. Neil Smith and Rev.
