Rev. James Harold McLean, 88, of Roseboro, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 20, 2024 at his home surrounded by his family.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, November 23, 2024 at First Methodist Church in Clinton, NC with Reverend Matt Seals, Reverend Andy Wood, and Dr. Christine Dodson officiating. Burial will be on Wednesday, November 27, 2024 at Richmond Memorial Park in Rockingham.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 23, 2024 at First Methodist Church in Clinton following the service.
Mr. McLean was born in Richmond County on April 9, 1936 to Fannie Elizabeth Liles and John William McLean, Sr. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Thomas Grady McLean, John William McLean, Jr., Eugene Liles McLean, Earl Crawford McLean; and a sister, Mary Ellen Saunders. He was a United Methodist Minister for 24 years.
He is survived by his wife Betty Paul McLean, of the home; two daughters, Renee Miller and husband Dwayne of Rockingham, Paula Crumpler and husband Houston, III of Roseboro; four sons, Edde McLean and wife Jeannie of Rockingham, Ronald McLean and wife Karen of Rockingham, Patrick McLean and wife Tina of Rockingham, William G. White, Jr. of Carolina Shores; 14 grandchildren; and many great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Methodist Church in Clinton, Mt. Moriah United Methodist Church in Clinton, and Pruitt Health Hospice.
