WADE Mr. James Alger McLamb, 69, of 5005 South River School Road, Wade, passed away on Wednesday, May 7, 2008 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center after suffering a stroke. Mr. McLamb was born in Fayetteville, North Carolina on February 20, 1939. Mr. McLamb retired from Food Lion, Inc. in 2002 and was owner and operator of McLamb Produce Farms at the time of his death. He was a life-long farmer in Cumberland County and enjoyed farming and loved to travel to his beach home on Oak Island every weekend with his wife, Susan. He was preceded in death by his father, Alger Princeton McLamb and his mother, Lela Elizabeth Godwin McLamb. He is survived by his wife, Susan McLamb of the home; his son, Christopher Michael McLamb of the home; his son, James Gregory McLamb and wife, Amelia McLamb of Franklin, North Carolina; and his little farming buddy, "Lobo". The funeral will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, May 10, 2008 at Butler Funeral Home Chapel in Stedman with Rev. Dr. John E. Hedgepeth presiding. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 1 to 2 PM on the day of the service. Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Dunn.
