Mr. James Edward "Jimmy" Griffin, 74

Mr. James Edward "Jimmy" Griffin 74 of 4531 NC Hwy 210 S, passed away Thursday, April 6, 2017 at his home.

He was born in Cumberland County to the late Waymon Griffin and Mary Vinson Hall. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by sisters, Lib Chapman and Lou Fisher and brother, Donald Griffin.

He retired from PWC with 31 years of service.

He is survived by his wife, Geraldine Griffin of the home; children, Charlie Griffin & wife, Donna of Stedman and Mike Griffin & wife, Susanne of Cedar Creek; 5 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; sisters, Rena Stiles of Noxon, Montana, Ann Fisher of Cedar Creek and Jackie Phillips of Eastover; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm Sunday, April 9, 2017 at Evergreen Baptist Church, officiating will be Rev. Tommy Honeycutt, Rev. Harold Moore, Rev. Sherrill Boykin, Dr. Odell Peterson, and Rev. David Shirley. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5:00pm to 7:00pm Saturday, April 8, 2017 at the funeral home.
