Mr. James M. Edwards, 53

ROSEBORO Mr. James Martin Edwards, Sr., 53 of 505 Northwest Railroad Street, passed away on Monday, February 9, 2009 at Sampson Regional Medical Center in Clinton. A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 13, 2009 at 3:00 P.M. at Roseboro First Baptist Church with Rev. Hampton Faircloth, Rev. Greg Templin, Rev. Roger White, and Rev. Jeff Bartlett officiating. Entombment will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens in Salemburg. Mr. Edwards was born in 1955 in Sampson County to the late James Marvin and Mary Ennis Edwards. He was a member of the Roseboro Fire Department and the Roseboro Rescue Squad. He worked as a Utility Superintendant with Smithfield Packing. Mr. Edwards is survived by: his wife, Wanda Pope Edwards of the home; one daughter, Kristy Alesha Edwards of Roseboro; one son, James Martin Edwards, Jr. of Roseboro; one sister, Francene Edwards of Clinton; and one niece, Mara Dawn Sizemore of Ohio. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6 until 8 P.M. at Butler Funeral Home, and other times at the home. Services entrusted to Butler Funeral Home, 401 W. Roseboro Street, Roseboro.
