Mr. James Franklin Edwards, 80 of the McDaniels Community of Roseboro, passed away Thursday, November 29, 2018 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00pm Saturday, December 1, at Mintz Baptist Church, 3761 Old Mintz Highway, Roseboro, with Pastor Dr. Robert Hunter and Reverend David Williams officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in the Church Cemetery.
He was born May 22, 1938 in Sampson County to the late Benjamin Franklin and Annie Ruth Benton Edwards. He was preceded in death by his parents; and daughter, Tonya Lynette Brown. He was a member of Mintz Baptist Church, an Army Veteran and worked as a Farmer.
He is survived by his wife, Annie Grace Edwards; two sons, Lynwood Edwards (wife, Ann) of Roseboro, and Carl Edwards (friend, Michele Mason) of Roseboro; daughter-in-law, Katrina Edwards; eight grandchildren, Chandler Brown, Cody Edwards, Hollie Edwards, Katie Edwards, Amanda Edwards, Kevin Sandy, Beth Ross, and Dusty Jackson; ten great grandchildren; and two brothers, Billy Edwards of Roseboro, and Bobby Edwards of Roseboro.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 1:50pm prior to the funeral service.
Butler Funeral Home of Roseboro is serving the family.
