Mr. James Edward “Jim” Knotts, 81 of White Oak went home to be with the Lord on Friday, February 16, 2024 at the UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM Monday, February 19, 2024 at the White Oak Gym in White Oak, NC with Rev. Danny Lewis and Jennifer McLamb officiating.  Burial will follow in the White Oak Baptist Church Cemetery with Fireman Honors.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 2:50 PM on Monday at White Oak Gym prior to the service.

Mr. Knotts was a native of Kershaw County, SC and the son of Morris and Mamie Smith Knotts;  He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Diana Evans Knotts; and son, John Anthony Knotts.

He was a welder and a retired Firefighter with the City of Fayetteville.  He was a charter member of the White Oak Fire Dept. and an auxillary deputy with the Bladen County Sheriff Dept.  He was retired from the U. S. Navy with 20 years of service.  He was a member of White Oak Baptist Church.

He is survived by his daughter, Sandra Andrews; two sons, James Edward Knotts, Jr. and Todd Strickland Knotts; five grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

Services entrusted to Butler Funeral Home, 401 W. Roseboro Street, Roseboro, NC.
