Mr. James Douglas Burgett, 60 passed away Monday, May 22, 2017 at his home.

He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Stephen Love Burgett and Ella Florence Branch Burgett; and uncles, Albert Marshall Burgett, Willis Love Burgett and Joseph Ransom Burgett.

He was a truck driver for 36 years , with his last employer being Warren Transport Inc.

He is survived by his loving wife, Linda Burgett of the home; mother, Mary Burgett Babiak & husband, Tony of Midwest City, OK; son, David Hardison of Stedman; step-sons, Paul Edwards of Goldsboro, and David Toler, II of Roseboro; aunts, Catherine Gregory of Norman, OK and Faye Carter & husband, Jimmy of Warsaw; uncle, Larry Burgett & wife, Dixie of Wade; half siblings, Randy Babiak, Donna Babiak and Ray Babiak & wife, Andrea all of OK; sisters-in-law, Laura Wehner and Judy Maynor; and numerous other special cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm Thursday, May 25, 2017 at Butler Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Hopewell United Methodist Church Cemetery in Newton Grove.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 pm to 2:00pm Thursday at the funeral home before the service.
