Mr. James Michael Brunson, 64 of 141 Trevor Lane, passed away Sunday, August 2, 2015 at his home.

The funeral will be held 12:00 noon Friday, August 7, 2015 at Butler Funeral Home, Stedman, with Rev. Anthony Packer officiating. Burial with military honors will be held 2:00 pm Friday at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery, Spring Lake.

Mr. Brunson was born on July 26, 1951 in Camden, S.C., and is preceded in death by his father, Curtis Brunson. He was an Army Veteran of the Vietnam War and worked as a Health Technician.

He is survived by his wife, Ivazen Cooley Brunson; daughters, April Brunson Franklin of Clinton and Tiffany Brunson Emeran of Atlanta, GA; son, Malik Platt of NY; step-daughter, Tamika Cooley of Winston-Salem; his mother, Etta Bright of Sterling, VA; brother, Curtis Brunson of NY; sisters, Marva J. Holland of Baltimore, MD, Barbara Brunson of Queens, NY, Jennifer Holmes of Fayetteville, and Melissa Bright-Lemmond of Sterling, VA; and seven grandchildren.

The family will receive friends 11:00 to 11:45 am Friday morning at Butler Funeral Home in Stedman.
