Mr. James C. Benton, 71

ROSEBORO Mr. James Cleat "J.C." Benton, 71 of 4491 Mintz Road, died on Thursday, June 12, 2008 at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, June 15, 2008 at 2 P.M. at Butler Funeral Home with Dr. John McBride officiating. Mr. Benton was born in 1936 in Bladen County to the late Walter Carl and Hettie Davis Benton. He was a retired Farmer. Mr. Benton is survived by: his wife, Flora Rickie Benton of the home; one daughter, Patricia Renee Horne of Roseboro; and two sisters, Alice Faye Johnson of Garland, and Deborah White, and husband Larry of Roseboro. Family will receive friends Sunday from 3 until 4 P.M. at the Funeral Home and other times at the home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Roseboro Fire Department, P.O.
