ROSEBORO
Mr. James William Barnes, 82 of 1387 Holden Road, died on Tuesday, April 27, 2010 at Sampson Regional Medical Center in Clinton.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 30, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. at Corinth Baptist Church with Rev. Tom Fortner, Rev. Tommy Honeycutt and Rev. Roger White officiating. Burial will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens in Salemburg.
Mr. Barnes was born on November 5, 1927 in Sampson County to the late James Columbus and Julie Holland Barnes. He was a lifetime Deacon of Corinth Baptist Church and also a Farmer.
Mr. Barnes is survived by: his wife of 63 years, Elizabeth Gray Barnes of the home; three daughters, Judy Jackson and husband, Jimmy of Raleigh, Jennifer Fann Baysden and husband, Jesse of Salemburg, Janet Barnes Burchette of Sanford; two sons, James Welton "J.W." Barnes and wife, Pam of High Point, and Jerry Barnes and wife, Terri of Roseboro; two brothers, Robert Elger Barnes and Lester Barnes both of Clinton; 14 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. at Butler Funeral Home in Roseboro, and other times at the home.
