Jackie Lane Knowles, 72 went to be with the Lord on Monday, June 3, 2024 at Autumn Care of Raeford Nursing Facility.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, June 8, 2024 at Butler Funeral Home Chapel in Stedman, officiating will be Rev. Vivian Rhone.  Burial with full military honors will follow at George Horne Cemetery in Autryville.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 1:50 PM at the funeral home prior to the service.

He was born in Cumberland County to the late, James Weaver Knowles and Ada Horne Knowles.  In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his brothers, Johnny and Gene Knowles.

Jackie retired from the United States Army as a CW4.  While serving in the Army he achieved the Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, 2 National Defense Service Medals, Good Conduct Medal, and numerous others.  He was also a longtime member of First Baptist Church East Bernstadt in Kentucky.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his son, Ryan Knowles of Newburgh, IN; brothers, Earl Knowles & wife, Mona of Kinston, and Jimmy Knowles & wife, Claudia of Falcon; a sister, Mary McLeod and spouse Larry McLeod of Fayetteville; aunt, Lila Autry of Fayetteville; and several nieces and nephews.
