Mrs. Ida Mac Sessoms Pope, 76, of Lucas Road died Thursday, November 04, 2010 at her home.
A funeral service will be conducted, Sunday, November 7, 2010 at 2:00 PM at Butler Funeral Home in Roseboro with Pastor Glen Morgan and Debra Carlisle officiating. Burial will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Pope was born in Sampson County and was the daughter of the late Thomas "Ed" and Nannie Taylor Sessoms. She worked for the Little Cotton Mfg. as a spinner before her retirement. She was preceded in death by two brothers, James R. Sessoms and Thomas "Junior" Sessoms and two sisters, Theola Harrell and Mary Norris.
She is survived by: her husband of 59 years, Charles "Pete" Pope, of the home; one daughter, Helen Pearsall and husband David, of Stedman; two sons, Johnny M. Pope and wife Tammy and Thomas Pope and wife Carolyn, all of Roseboro; one brother, Ralph Sessoms and wife Julia, of Roseboro; five sisters, Ernestine Nunnery, of Stedman, Edith Hall and husband Junior, Martha Carlisle and husband Pee Wee, and Myrtle Cobly, all of Roseboro and Wanda Worth, of Albemarle; seven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, Nov. 6, 2010 from 6 till 8 PM at Butler Funeral Home
