WHITE OAK
Mrs. Ida McLemore Meares Johnson, 75 of White Oak, died on Thursday, August 13, 2009 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville.
A funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2009 at 3:00 P.M. at White Lake Baptist Church with Rev. Walter Hayes and Rev. Jerry Groves officiating. Burial will follow at Briar Branch Baptist Church Cemetery in Elizabethtown.
Mrs. Johnson was born in 1934 in Bladen County to the late Clarence Rockwell and Lillie Mae Harrell McLemore. She is preceded in death by: her husband, Weldon Meares; one granddaughter, Katherine Ann Hardee; one grandson, James Scott Hardee; one brother, Clarence McLemore, Jr.; and two sisters, Myrtle Taylor and Quinda Edge. She worked as a Practical Nurse with Bladen County Hospital.
Mrs. Johnson is survived by: two daughters, Kathy Jean Maynor and husband Howard, of Fayetteville, and Barbara Ann Bedsole and husband Jake, of White Oak; one son, Weldon Andy Meares and wife Bobbie Jean, of White Lake; one step son, Joey Johnson of Elizabethtown; two sisters, Erma Weaver of Whiteville and Glynda Suggs and husband Dewey, of Raeford; one brother, Elvin McLemore and wife Shirley, of White Oak; four grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Saturday afternoon from 1 until 3 P.M. at the church.
