GARLAND Mr. Hugh Douglas Simmons, 70, of 707 Parkersburg Road, Garland, died September 1, 2012 at his home. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at Butler Funeral Home in Roseboro with Rev. Calvin Sacra and Rev. Sam Pope officiating . Mr. Simmons was born on February 20, 1942 in Bladen County to the late Heman Wiley Simmons and Sennie Horrell Simmons. He preceded in death by his brother, Malcolm Simmons. He is survived by his wife, Mary Lynne Simmons of the home, his son, Hugh Douglas Simmons, II, and wife, Adriana of Parkersburg, his daughter, Dina Young and husband, Troy of Fayetteville, daughter, Jennifer Ransom and husband, Dustin of Stedman, son, Douglas Wayne Simmons of Hope Mills, daughter, Lisa Ann Anderson of Washington, grandchildren, Jessica Ransom, Ashley Young, Kaitlyn Ransom, Troy Young, and Lily Young, sisters, Geraldine Simons of Savannah, GA, Vivian Nunnery and husband, Bill of Garland and Carolyn McKoy and husband, Joe of Fayetteville. Services entrusted to Butler Funeral Home, 401 W. Roseboro Street, Roseboro. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at Butler Funeral Home in Roseboro with Rev.
