FAYETTEVILLE Mr. Hilliard Paul Carter, Jr., 65, of 9775 NC Hwy 210 S. died Wednesday, April 1 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. He had been employed as a Panel Board Operator for ICI Americus. He was a native of Cumberland County, the son of Hilliard Paul Carter and Jeze Mae Smith. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM, Sunday, April 5 at Evergreen Baptist Church with Revs. Odell Peterson, Larry West and Johnny Hicks officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Carter is survived by his wife, Beth Carter of the home; two sons, Brian Carter and Russell Carter, both of Autryville; one daughter, Susan Hall of Autryville; one sister, Sadie Vinson of Autryville; six grandchildren and one great grandchild. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM, Saturday, April 4 at Butler Funeral Home in Stedman.
