Mrs. Hilda Grey Matthews, 80 of Autryville, passed away Sunday, March 19, 2017 at Betsy Johnson Hospital.

A graveside service will be held 2:00pm Friday, March 24, 2017 at Sunrise Memorial Gardens, S. Salemburg Highway, Salemburg.

She was born December 16, 1936 in Sampson County and worked as a Floral Designer. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lonnie Herbert and Ruby Strickland Hall; and husband, Klaxton Matthews.

She is survived by her son, Joley Marcus Matthews of the home; brother, Jimmy Hall and wife Patricia of Autryville; sisters-in-law, Barbara Matthews of Roseboro, Janet Smith of Florida; brother-in-law, Joe Matthews of Roseboro; niece, Jeanna H. Daniels and husband Marcus of Roseboro; nephews, Neal Matthews of Clinton, Kevin Smith of Florida, Scott Matthews of Roseboro; great niece, Jaclyn Daniels; and great nephew, John Marcus Daniels.
