ROSEBORO
Mrs. Hilda Mae Malpass Evans, 78 of 1500 Microwave Tower Road, passed away on Sunday, November 23, 2008 at Bethesda Health Care Facility in Fayetteville.
Funeral services will be held at Pleasant Union Baptist Church on Wednesday, November 26, 2008 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Paul Honeycutt and Mr. James Barnes officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Evans was born in 1929 in Wayne County. She is preceded in death by: her husband, Leonard Evans; two sons, Russell H. Johnson and Lucian "Buddy" Johnson; one sister, Evelyn Ambrose; one brother, Lucian Malpass. She was a retired Sewing Operator from the Roseboro Sewing Room.
Mrs. Evans is survived by: two daughters, Kay J. Beard of Fayetteville, and Jennie E. Faircloth Martin of Roseboro; one step-daughter, Mary Lou Penny of Raleigh; one step-son, Bill Johnson, Jr. of Hope Mills; three grandchildren, Rusty Johnson, Tiffany Johnson, and Amanda Sessoms James; five great grandchildren, and three beloved cats.
Family will receive friends on Wednesday following the service in Pleasant Union Baptist Church Fellowship Hall, and all other times at the home.
Services are entrusted to Butler Funeral Home, 401 W. Roseboro Street, in Roseboro.
