MOUNT OLIVE Mrs. Hilda Rose Autry Sutton, 66, formerly of Clinton, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at Wayne Memorial Hospital. A memorial service will be held 6:00 pm Friday, October 23 at Butler Funeral Home, 401 W. Roseboro Street, Roseboro, with Reverend Ricky Spell and Reverend Tony Ward officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. A private burial will be held. Hilda was a Registered Nurse with Sampson Regional Medical Center for over 30 years. Her selfless compassion and care of others touched more people’s lives than can be counted. Hilda’s legacy in life was helping others. Her other joy was her family, especially her grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Julius Tate and Lucy Belle Hall Autry; and her son, Rodney Cox. She is survived by her husband, Mac Sutton of the home; daughter, Terri Cox Lavery and husband Robert M. of Panama City, FL; brother, Billy Ray Autry of Autryville; grandchildren, Kaleigh Renee Melton of San Antonio, TX, Corey Lee Cox of Clinton, Samantha Jo Cox of Clinton; daughter-in-law, Sandra Cox of Clinton; uncle and aunt, Dock, Sr. and Louise Autry of Autryville; aunt, Inez Hall of Autryville; cousin, Dock Autry, Jr. of Greenville, NC; father-in-law, Elbert Sutton of Newton Grove; brother-in-law, Jimmy Sutton of Mount Olive; sisters-in-law, Brenda Thornton of Mount Olive, Sue Sutton of Newton Grove, and Kay Fields of Mount Olive; and her other extended family.
