Mrs. Henrietta Coley Tew, 92

ROSEBORO Mrs. Henrietta Coley Tew, 92 of 271 Devond Tew Road, Roseboro, died on Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville. The funeral will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, January 24, 2014 at Pleasant Union Baptist Church with Rev. Paul Honeycutt and Rev. Richard Whitman officiating. Burial will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens in Salemburg. Mrs. Tew was born on December 17, 1921 in Duplin County to the late Henry and Mary Jones Coley. She is preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, Devond Tew; one son, Harvey Thornton, Jr.; one daughter, Lisa Ann Tew; one brother, Earl Coley; and two sisters, Mildred Lancaster and Margaret Coley. She is survived by: two sons, Steve Tew and wife, Tammy and Bobby Thornton and wife, Wanda all of Roseboro; one brother, James Coley of Faison; five sisters, Edna McLemore of Roseboro, Faye Jackson and Hilda Lindsay both of Clinton, Rachel Daniels of Wilmington and Janet Cottle of Goldsboro; six grandchildren, Ryan Tew and wife, Brandy Shannon, Lindsay McNeill and husband, John, Crystal Benson and husband, Wesley, Michelle Woodie and husband, Travis, Wayne Thornton and Sandra Warner; and 11 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Friday afternoon from 1:00 to 1:45 P.M. at Pleasant Union Baptist Church, 2300 Pleasant Union Road, Roseboro, and other times at her home.
