Helen (Horne) Freeman, 75 passed away on Sunday, May 9, 2021 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center surrounded by her family.

A celebration of life service will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, officiating will be Rev. G. C. Hughes.  Burial will follow at George Horne Cemetery in Autryville.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 12:50 PM Wednesday at the church prior to the service.

Helen is preceded in death by her parents, Ashford Horne and Lonnie Pearl Carter Horne; husband, Waldon "WK" Kelly Freeman; and her siblings, David Horne, William Henry Horne, Edna Honeycutt, James Buck Horne, Margaret Phillips and Carolyn Fisher.

Helen was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend, she will be truly missed by all who knew her.  She worked with Fasco Industries for 24 years; was a crossing guard and helped in the Cafeteria at Mac Williams Middle School and at Cape Fear High School; sold Avon for over 30 years, and helped her family at Poor Bill Porkskins.

She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Barbara Buie, Elizabeth Horne, Kelly Freeman & wife, Lou and Tracy Bunce & husband, Charlie; 10 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; and her siblings, Ray Horne & wife, Linda, Vivian Hendricks & husband, Stan, Ellen Smith & husband, Ronald and Mary Hall.
