Salemburg
Ms. Helen Ruth Faircloth, 81 of Salemburg passed away on Monday, December 13, 2021 at the Sampson Regional Medical Center.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, December 18 at Union Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Jennifer Wise officiating.
Ms. Faircloth was a native of Sampson County, born at the Brewer-Starling Clinic in Roseboro on December 22, 1939 to Jesse James (Jet) and Neta Tew Faircloth. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Tyson E. Taylor. She was employed for many years with the Erwin Mills.
When she was in the first grade at Clement school, she came home one day and told her Mama she was taking piano lessons. The problem with that was they didn’t own a piano. Her Daddy had been giving her fifty cent pieces, which by now had amounted to fifty dollars. She gave it all back to him to help pay for her first piano. The lessons and the piano would prove to be a good investment as she would often play and sing at area churches.
She is survived by three daughters, Rebecca Donnelle Taylor of Salemburg, Teresa Dorman (Garrett Starling) of Fayetteville and Denise Taylor of the home; four grandchildren, six great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Friday evening at Butler Funeral Home in Roseboro and at other times at the home.
