Mrs. Hazel Joyce Strickland Barefoot, 80

STEDMAN Mrs. Hazel Joyce Strickland Barefoot, 80 of 6631 Sandy Creek Road, Stedman, died on Tuesday, September 27, 2011 at the Highland House of Fayetteville. A memorial service will be held at 4:30 P.M. on Sunday, October 2, 2011 at Hickory Grove Baptist Church with Rev. W.H. Calcutt officiating. Mrs. Barefoot was born on May 11, 1931 in Cumberland County to the late Ed and Picola Bryant Strickland. She is preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Lloyd Vardell Barefoot. She was a homemaker. She is survived by: her daughter, Wanda B. Tart and husband, Curtis of Roseboro; two grandchildren, Danielle Tart Hinson and husband, David of Wake Forest and Michael P. Tart of Raleigh; and two great grandchildren, Charlotte D. Hinson and Christopher R. Hinson. The family will receive friends on Sunday afternoon following the service in the Church Fellowship Hall. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hickory Grove Baptist Church, 11341 N. US Hwy. 421, Clinton, NC 28328. Services entrusted to Butler Funeral Home, 401 W. Roseboro Street, Roseboro.
