AUTRYVILLE
Mrs. Hazel Smith Lassiter, 93 of Autryville passed away peacefully at the Autumn Care, Fayetteville on Thursday, August 21, 2014.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, August 23 at Cokesbury United Methodist Church with the Rev. James Koo and Rev. Donald Shields officiating. Burial will follow in the Fisher Cemetery in Stedman.
Mrs. Lassiter was a native of Bladen County, the daughter of Geddie and Ada Edge Smith. She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband , Fred A. Wright and second husband, William J. "Bill" Lassiter, three sons, Egbert Wright, John Wright and Dr. Tommy Wright, also two brothers and five sisters.
She is survived by daughter, Dr. Margaret Wright Gleaton and husband, Danny of Hope Mills; son, Dr. Ray Wright and wife, Diane of Conyers, GA; two sisters, Ruth Shaw and husband, Dewey of Elizabethtown and Blannie Hall of Ammon; nine grandchildren, Meredith Johnson of Farmville, Brittany Thompson of Farmville, Charles Wright of Denver, CO, Jonathan Wright of Tempe, AZ, Fred A. Wright, Jr. of Little River, SC, William A. Wright of Fayetteville, Kevin Wright of Oxford, GA, Shannon Santee of Loganville, GA, and Allison Graham of Abingdon, MD; seventeen great grandchildren and five great- great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7-9 PM on Friday evening at Butler Funeral Home in Stedman.
The family wishes to thank all of the caregivers at Autumn Care, Fayetteville and Home Instead Senior Care for the loving care she received over the past three years.
