Haskell Mae (Carter) Johnson

Mrs. Haskell Johnson age 86 died Monday, April 11, 2022 at Cape Fear Valley Hospital with family by her side.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, April 14, 2022 at Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery with Mr. Roy Bullock officiating.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00 AM on Thursday, April 14, 2022 at Macedonia Baptist Church.

She was raised in Cedar Creek; she later married and moved to Vander and raised her family; she worked in retail sales for over 20 years.

Haskell was preceded in death by her parents, Wes and Maebelle Carter; husband, Robert Johnson; her daughter, Vanessa Warren; her brother, Joseph Carter; and son-in-law, Randy Barefoot.

She is survived by her two daughters, Gayle Beasley (Durwood) and Sheila Bullock (Roy); her son-in-law, Jay Warren; three grandchildren, Christy Barefoot, USAF Major Jay Warren (Grace) and Ethan Warren (Ashley); five great-grandchildren, Clara, Landon, Adeline, Gwen and Norah; and extended family of nieces and nephews and friends.

Special thanks and love to the staff of Haymount Rehabilitation and Nursing; especially Wilma, and other home caregivers, Bertha and Ashley.

Mother was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church and loved her Lord and believed in His word and power.
