Mr. Harold Lee White, 79

Fayetteville

Harold Lee White, age 79 of Fayetteville, passed away on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. Harold was born on June 30, 1938. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilbur Lee and Myrtis Averitte White and a brother, James Howard White, Sr. He is survived by a sister-in-law, Florence White; his caregiver, Pat Ann Matthews; as well as a niece, Belivia Autry; two nephews, James and Lynn White and several cousins.

Mr. White, a deputy with the Cumberland County Sheriff's Department, retired on September 30, 2009 after a twenty-year career. Prior to a career in law enforcement, Mr. White was employed with several transport bus lines. Harold cherished his family, enjoyed sports, particularly the North Carolina Tar Heels, and music.

The family will receive friends at Butler Funeral Home in Stedman from 11:00am to 12:00pm on Friday, May 18, 2018. A funeral service will take place following the visitation at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Autry-McAlpin Cemetery on Obershea Lane following the funeral.
