Mr. Harold D. Strickland, 63

AUTRYVILLE Mr. Harold Dixon Strickland, 63 of 651 Saddle Club Road, died on Sunday, May 17, 2009 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 20, 2009 at 5:00 P.M. at Butler Funeral Home with Rev. Jessie Matthews and Rev. Ben Merritt officiating. Burial will follow at the Faircloth Cemetery in Salemburg. Mr. Strickland was born in 1945 and was a native of Sampson County. He is preceded in death by: his parents, Anson and Alease Lewis Strickland; three sisters, Faye Tew, Carolyn Strickland, and Gray Byrd; one brother, Johnny Strickland; and two granddaughters, Bridget and Alexis Strickland. He worked as a Dye Range Worker with Swift Denim Co. in Erwin. Mr. Strickland is survived by: his wife, Bell Sessoms Strickland; one son, Waylon Strickland and wife Angie; two daughters, Ann Strickland, and Jennie House and husband Berry; five grandchildren, Amanda and Brooke House, Cody, Savanna, and Madison Strickland; and one brother, George Strickland. The family will receive friends on Wednesday afternoon from 4 until 5 P.M. at Butler Funeral Home, 401 W. Roseboro Street, Roseboro.
