Mr. Grover Grantham, 93

SALEMBURG

Mr. Grover Grantham, 93 of 100 N.E. Main Street, Salemburg, passed away Saturday, December 3, 2016 at his home.

He was born in Sampson County to the late Ruth and Mary Mallie Knowles Grantham. He is also preceded in death by his first wife, Ruby Naylor Grantham; second wife, Trecia Street Grantham; and three brothers, Leo Grantham, Ernie Grantham, and Matt L. Grantham. He was a farmer with the North Carolina Department of Agriculture and a WWII Veteran with the United States Army.

He is survived by his daughter, Linda G. Hicks and husband Frank of Apex; son, Ray Grantham and wife Glenda of Roseboro; three sisters, Annie Bert Naylor of Clinton, Vernelle Harris of Indiana, and Evelyn Jackson of Roseboro; three grandchildren, Clay Hicks and wife Kimberly, Scott Hicks, and Ken Grantham and wife Ashley; four great grandchildren, Cora Hicks, Nate Hicks, Seth Hicks, and Trey Grantham; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00pm Tuesday, December 6, at Calvary Tabernacle Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church, Salemburg, with Reverend Eddie McKeel and Reverend Jim Gurganus officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00pm to 8:00pm Monday, December 5 at Butler Funeral Home, Roseboro, and other times at the home of his son, 753 Huntley School Road, Roseboro.

The family also wishes to give a special thanks to caretakers, Nadine Sloan, Ruth Grantham, and Tommie Smith with Community Hospice.
