CLINTON Mr. Graham Godwin, 83 of 105 Royal Lane, Apt. 201, Clinton, died on Friday, October 24, 2014 at Sampson Regional Medical Center in Clinton. The funeral will be held 2:00 P.M. on Monday, October 27, 2014 at Butler Funeral Home, Roseboro, with Rev. Billy Bass officiating. Burial will follow at Mintz Baptist Church Cemetery in Roseboro. Mr. Godwin was born on June 16, 1931 in Sampson County to the late Pat and Hattie Baker Godwin. He is preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Lorrane Johnson Godwin; two brothers and three sisters. He was a farmer. He is survived by his wife, Bertie Godwin of the home; daughter, Janice Godwin of Roseboro; son, Percy Godwin of Autryville; step daughters, Shirley Staton of Warsaw and Melinda Bishop of Clinton; step-son, James Edward Staton of Clinton; 4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; 6 step grandchildren and 2 step great grandchildren; and 5 special sisters-in-law. The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Butler Funeral Home in Roseboro and other times at his home or the home of his daughter. Services entrusted to Butler Funeral Home, 401 W. Roseboro Street, Roseboro.Visitation: Sunday afternoon from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Butler Funeral Home in Roseboro. Funeral: 2:00 P.M. on Monday, October 27, 2014 at Butler Funeral Home, Roseboro, with Rev. Billy Bass officiating. Burial: Mintz Baptist Church Cemetery in Roseboro.
