Mr. Glenwood McLamb, 91 of Salemburg went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at his home surrounded by his family.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, January 7, 2023 at Butler Funeral Home with Rev. Bobby Herring and Rev. Andy Wood officiating. Burial will follow in the Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 1:50 PM on Saturday at the funeral home prior to the service.
Mr. McLamb was born on June 4, 1931 in Salemburg, NC to Kenley and Ehrma Reynolds McLamb. He graduated from Salemburg High School in 1950 and moved to New York and worked at the New York State Hospitals and College. In 1959 he married Carol Bendl and in 1974 they moved back to Salemburg to his homeplace. He worked for Sampson Regional Medical Center and Sampson Community College.
Glen was a member of Roseboro Methodist Church, where he had a passion for cutting the grass and helped with many activities around the church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Dorman McLamb and Henry McLamb and a sister, Dixie Massengill.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Carol McLamb of the home; two sons, Scott McLamb and wife, Lynn and Dean McLamb and wife, Denise all of Salemburg; one daughter, Dr. Lynette McLamb and husband, Todd Steiner of Forest Knolls, CA; four grandchildren, Brett McLamb and wife, Emily, Lauren Braswell and husband, Ben, Oscar Steiner and wife, Tristan and Serenoa Steiner; two great grandchildren, Graham Harvard Braswell and Harper Glenwood Braswell.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Roseboro Methodist Church, PO Box 8, Roseboro, NC 28382.
