Mr. Gilbert D Naylor, 94 of Fayetteville and formerly of Roseboro, passed away Monday, May 9, 2016 at Autumn Care of Fayetteville.

The funeral will be held 11:00 am Wednesday at Butler Funeral Home in Roseboro with Reverend Dr. John McBride officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens in Salemburg.

He was born on October 25, 1921 in Sampson County and is preceded in death by his parents, Dennis Franklin and Tempie Jane McLamb Naylor; wife, Nepha McMillan Naylor; son, Billy Naylor; and a grandson, William Naylor. He was a Marine Corps Veteran of WWII having fought in The Battle of Iwo Jima, and retired as a self contracted painter.

He is survived by his daughter, Betsy N. Cagle and husband George of Fayetteville; sisters, Evelyn Polk of Greensboro, Priscilla Owen of Roseboro; grandchildren, Lesi Kinton of Roseboro, Greg Cagle and wife Brenda of Virginia; great grandchildren, Travis Kinton, Brandon Faucett and wife Jessie, Chris Cagle and wife Ashley, Ashton Cagle; and great-great grandchildren, Madison Cagle, Chloe Johnson, Ezra Cagle, Emory Faucett, Brantley Faucett.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 10:45 am prior to the service Wednesday at Butler Funeral Home in Roseboro.
