Mr. Gilbert Glenn "Giz" Smith, 60

FAYETTEVILLE

Mr. Gilbert Glenn Smith, 60, affectionally known as “Giz"passed away on Sunday, September 13, 2015 at the Cape Fear Valley MedicalCenter.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, Sept.16 at Cross Creek Cemetery with Rev. Andy Wood officiating.

Mr. Smith was a native of Sampson County, the son Ira andLouise Black Smith. He was preceded indeath by his parents and sister, Judy Black.

He is survived by a brother, Lynn Smith of Fayetteville; twonieces, Kelly Ambellan and husband Douglas, and Amy Highsmith; one great nephew, Trey Highsmith;five great nieces, Emily Highsmith, Lindsay Ballard, Caroline Highsmith, OliviaAmbellan and Lily Brown.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Tuesday eveningat Butler Funeral Home in Stedman.
