ROSEBORO Mr. Gethro Tillman "G.T." Honeycutt, 82 of 1344 Ernest Williams Road, Roseboro, died on Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at the North Carolina State Veterans Nursing Home in Fayetteville. The funeral will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, November 29, 2014 at Butler Funeral Home, Roseboro, with Rev. Paul Honeycutt and Rev. Andy Wood officiating. Burial will follow at Peniel Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery with military honors. Mr. Honeycutt was born on December 27, 1931 in Sampson County to the late George Tillman and Meta Honeycutt Honeycutt. He is preceded in death by his parents; and one son, Clay Honeycutt. He was an Army Veteran of the Korean War, and retired as a carpenter and farmer. He is survived by his wife, Florence Honeycutt of the home; one son, Hal Honeycutt and wife Sheila of Roseboro; one step-daughter, Florence Spurgeon and husband Chip of Dunn; one step-son, Andy Metzger and wife Kim of New York; one sister, Agnes Williams of Salemburg; 10 grandchildren, Jonathan Honeycutt, David Honeycutt and Jessica, Joseph Metzger and wife Kelly, Cody Honeycutt, Jeremy Honeycutt, Rebekah Spurgeon, Christopher Spurgeon, Kasey Metzger and A.J. Metzger; and three great grandchildren, Anna Belle Honeycutt, Emma Grace Honeycutt and Kaleigh Honeycutt. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6:00 to 9:00 P.M. at Butler Funeral Home in Roseboro and other times at the home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the North Carolina State Veterans Home, 214 Cochran Avenue, Fayetteville, N.C. 28301. Services entrusted to Butler Funeral Home, 401 W.
