Mrs. Gertrude Hairr Spell, 87

ROSEBORO

Mrs. Gertrude Hairr Spell, 87 of Roseboro, passed away Saturday, March 18, 2017 at Harnett Woods Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

The funeral will be held 11:00am Wednesday, March 22, at Beulah United Methodist Church, 4610 Corinth Church Road, Roseboro, with Reverend Bobby Herring and Reverend Andy Wood officiating. Interment will follow at Spell Cemetery, Dunn Road, Roseboro.

She was born June 2, 1929 in Sampson County and was a homemaker. She is preceded in death by her parents, Lattie and Betty Royal Hairr; husband, Elbert V. Spell, Sr.; son, E.V. Spell, Jr.; daughter, Denise Spell McDonald; great grandson, Jayden Scott Spell; two sisters; and four brothers.

She is survived by her daughter, Trudy Spell Riddle and husband Gary of Roseboro; daughter-in-law, Becky Spell of Dunn; grandchildren, Jason Spell and wife Kelly, Lindsay Spell Shwaikeh and husband Brandon, and Meredith McDonald; great grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Bryce Spell, Eli, Ellie and Ean Shwaikeh; and brothers, Carl Hairr and Omax Hairr both of Greensboro.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00pm Tuesday at Butler Funeral Home in Roseboro and other times at her home.
