Mrs. Gertrude Elizabeth (Barbour) Norris Coats, 90 formally of Autryville went to be with the Lord on Friday, April 5, 2024 at Spring City Care & Rehab in Spring City, TN.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, April 12, 2024 at Beaver Dam Baptist Church Cemetery with the Dr. Josh Hughes officiating.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Thursday, April 11, 2024 at Butler Funeral Home in Roseboro.

Mrs. Coats was a native of Cumberland County, the daughter of Burkett and Gertie Ingraham Barbour. She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Monroe F. Norris, Jr.; her second husband, James E. Coats; her son, Charles E. Norris; five brothers, Hubert Barbour, Thomas Barbour, William Barbour, Jesse Barbour and Edward Barbour; and three sisters, Erlene Barbour Bullard, Maverine Barbour Hicks and Melvine Barbour Stewart.

She leaves to cherish her memory three sons, Anthony E. Norris, Thomas F. Norris and David R. Norris; five grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
