Mrs. Geraldine (Ivey) Norton, 95 of Salemburg went to be with the Lord on Monday, May 13, 2024 at ECU Health Medical Center in Greenville.

A funeral service will be held at 4:00 PM on Sunday, May 19, 2024 at Salemburg Baptist Church with Reverend Drew Bolin and Reverend Andy Wood officiating. The burial will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 3:50 PM on Sunday, May 19, 2024 at the church prior to the service.

Mrs. Norton was a native of Sampson County, the daughter of Alton and Virginia Iona Matthews Ivey. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Aubrey Gilbert Norton; and five brothers, Ormond Ivey, Olin Ivey, Norwood Ivey, Campbell Ivey, and Henry Ivey.

Mrs. Norton retired from First Union National Bank in Salemburg after 25 years of service.

She leaves to cherish her memory her son, Mitchell Norton and wife, Jo Ann of Washington, NC; her granddaughter, Olivia Cuthrell and husband, Lewis of Washington, NC; two great-grandchildren, George Hollyday Cuthrell; and OliveAnn Hollyday Cuthrell; two sisters, Linda Holden of Atlanta, Georgia; and Jeanette Benton of Smithfield, NC; her brother, Gene Ivey and wife, Grace of Fayetteville, NC; and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, consider making a memorial to the  Old Bluff Presbyterian Church, 4100 Old Bluff Church Road, Godwin, NC 28344.
