Mrs. Geraldine McLamb Baird, 99 of Morganton and formerly of Elizabethtown, passed away Sunday, May 28, 2017 at John F. Keever Solace Center in Asheville.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00pm Saturday, June 3, at McLamb Family Cemetery, Harnett Church Road, Roseboro.

Born August 9, 1917 in Sampson County, she was the daughter of the late Marshall Judson and Bertha Baggett McLamb. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John William Baird. She had been a member of First Baptist Church of Elizabethtown and retired after 25 years as a Teacher with the Bladen County School System. She had been a resident of Grace Ridge Retirement Community in Morganton since 2003.

She is survived by three nieces, Lou Anne Johnston of Huntsville, Alabama, Evelyn Blevins Butler and husband Simeon of Nebo, and Faye Raynor Dunn and husband Edward of Raleigh; and three great nieces and three great nephews.

Services are by Butler Funeral Home, 401 W. Roseboro Street, Roseboro.
